South West Executive Lead, BINA
am a senior nurse leader with over 20 years’ experience in cancer care, spanning clinical practice, research delivery, and cancer genomics. I hold a senior nursing leadership role at North Bristol NHS Trust, where I lead work in genomics mainstreaming, research capacity building, and workforce development. My practice is driven by a passion for personalised cancer care, the use of digital innovation to support self-management and quality of life, and embedding equality, diversity, and inclusion across all aspects of practice and research. I am a recent graduate of the Florence Nightingale Foundation Established Leadership Programme. Alongside my NHS role, I am in the final stages of completing my PhD at Oxford Brookes University and hold a NIHR Senior Research Leader Fellowship. I also serve as a Trustee of the UK Oncology Nursing Society (UKONS), contributing to national leadership and advancing cancer nursing across the UK.
My leadership is grounded in compassion, integrity, and a strong commitment to supporting nurses to grow, lead, and thrive. As an internationally educated nurse, I understand first-hand the challenges faced by nurses of Indian origin as they progress their careers within the UK healthcare system. This lived experience shapes my leadership values and fuels my commitment to equity, inclusion, and sponsorship. I am proud to serve as the South West Executive Lead for the British Indian Nurses Association (BINA), providing leadership, mentorship, and guidance for nurses and midwives across the region. I am passionate about building supportive networks, fostering confidence and visibility, and empowering nurses to step into leadership roles. “BINA is about belonging and creating space for nurses of Indian origin to thrive and lead.” Through BINA, I am committed to supporting nurses of Indian origin not only to succeed, but to lead with confidence and purpose.PARTNERS
